Disciple Fast Track Featured revised

Have you been intrigued by some of the favorite Bible stories that we’ve been
rediscovering this summer in our worship services?

Would you like to learn more about how each of these individual stories fit into the
overarching story the Bible tells of God’s relationship with us?

Would you like to learn more about the Bible and how it can help
give more meaning to the story of your own life?

If so, Pastor Dave Graybeal invites you to be a part of a new Bible study starting up this fall at Keith Church.

Disciple Fast Track is an adaptation of the original, bestselling Disciple Bible Study which came out 30 years ago. According to Cokesbury.com website, this new incarnation of the classic study is especially designed “for busy people who are seeking a comprehensive engagement over time with the entire biblical text.” FastTrack is a two-part study that will roughly follow the school year, with 12 weeks each “semester.” The fall semester covers the Old Testament and the spring semester covers the New Testament. Please don’t freak out when I tell you there will be some homework – it’s a very manageable 3-5 chapters of the Bible daily in preparation for each week’s group meetings – but there are no tests to take or essays to write! We will gather each week for 1 hour and 15 minutes in which a brief video presentation will launch us into a discussion of the session’s readings and topics. Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a spiritual gifts assessment and discover meaningful ways to serve and live out your discipleship.

One of the things that has always impressed me about Disciple Bible Study is that its goal has always been not just information but transformation. In my experience of leading these Bible studies (including when I was here at Keith years ago as the associate pastor), I have seen people’s lives changed through their encounter with God’s Word in the Bible. I have watched as their love of God and their faith in Christ has grown. I have witnessed new ministries being birthed out of these groups. I can promise you that this will be a very enriching experience in your own life and in the life of our church.

Please prayerfully consider committing to participate in at least the fall semester (Old Testament) of this study. We will offer the study on Thursdays at Noon beginning September 8 and Sunday evenings from 6 to 7:15 p.m.beginning September 11. We will incorporate a few Sundays off and finish the semester mid-December. The cost of the study guide is only $15. Please sign up by completing the form at the bottom of this page, or by calling or stopping by the church office (423-745-2612) on or before August 28 if you are interested in participating so that we may order enough materials for you.
