Keith Kids

Keith Kids: the Children’s Ministry of Keith Church offers activities and opportunities to learn more about Christ for children ages four through Fifth Grade. Programs for this age group include Sunday School, Wednesday night Bible studies, KC JAM! and Children’s Church. We also host special events throughout the year, including a birthday social, Children’s Sabbath, Vacation Bible School, summer day trips to fun locations throughout the area and our annual Keith Family Christmas.

Nurseries

We offer a warm, safe and nurturing environment in our nurseries for infants, toddlers and preschoolers up to age four every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until the last worship service ends. Our nursery staff is experienced in child care and have completed Safe Sanctuaries training. Also, all toys in the nurseries are developmentally age appropriate.

Sunday SchoolOur Sunday School classes meet every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. upstairs from the Activity Center (for First through Fifth Grades) and downstairs across from the infant and toddler nurseries (for preschool and Kindergarten age children). Classes are divided as follows:

  • Nursery: Birth to Two Years
  • Pre-K & Kindergarten
  • First, Second & Third Grades
  • Fourth & Fifth Grades

Sunday School teachers use a curriculum with age appropriate materials that provides a Bible study and fun activities. Lessons encourage participation and enhance each child’s Christian education.

Children's Church

Children are welcome and encouraged to participate in the worship services; however, you may choose for your child to attend Children’s Church – a child-focused program offering a Bible lesson and craft for children in Kindergarten through Second Grade. This ministry takes place after the children’s sermon during the 10:35 a.m. service each Sunday.

Wednesday Nights at Keith

Throughout the school year, Keith Kids take part in KC JAM! and weekly Bible study most Wednesdays from 6 – 7 p.m., exceptions include fall break, holidays, spring break and during special services. Childcare for parents attending Small Groups on Wednesday nights is offered from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Children may be dropped off and picked up in the Activity Center.

KC JAM! meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. to give children the opportunity to participate in worship through the ministry of music and song. The group, which meets in the children’s choir room behind the Sanctuary, is led by Abbie Headrick and Tracy Graybeal.

Upcoming KC JAM! performances:

Sunday, October 22: UMW Sunday, children will sing in the combined 10:35 a.m. worship service in The Gathering

Sunday, November 19: Children will perform a Thanksgiving song in both 10:35 a.m. services

Sunday, December 17: KC JAM! will participate in the Keith Family Christmas by performing the play “A Red Letter Christmas.”

Bible Study
Join us each week as we study God’s word through activities & lessons written specifically for each age group. Bible study groups for children meet following KC JAM! rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. in the classrooms located upstairs from the Activity Center. LeAnn Liner leads the Kindergarten – Second Grade group, and the Third – Fifth Grade group is led by Tim Womac.

Puppeteers The puppet ministry at Keith Church allows children to learn and share God’s love with others while being creative through rehearsals and performances. The Keith Church Puppeteers are led by Marie Bindrim and Cindy Mishtal. They rehearse each Sunday at 5 p.m. in The Gathering and host performances in The Gathering on the third Sunday of each month during the Children’s Time (service begins at 10:35 a.m.). The ministry invites all children who are able to read to participate. To join the group or for more information, attend a Sunday rehearsal!
